Wine description
Colour: Dark ruby red with a youthful purple rim.
Nose: Blackberry, iodine, coriander seed and lavender, as well as subtle hints of wild strawberry.
Palate: Soft, yet firm tannins with a creamy mid palate and forest berries
A light and fresh red drinking wine with peppery undertones, typical of the Swartland, for any occasion.
Mineral, crushed stone, lots of earthy undertones. Very Bordeaux-like, with freshly incorporated notes of sage, thyme and bay leaf adding freshness to balance the fine, precise Cabernet Franc tannins. Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon.
Fuller and richer from high-density vineyard, but also retains lovely freshness. Fragrant honeysuckle, riper fruit, toasted almond
nuance. A mineral, wet stone luminescence lights up the dry finish
Youthful flint has evolved into a nose of fresh ocean air complemented by lemon peel, lemon blossom, white nectarine
Palate has lovely concentration with good viscous texture and good lasting acidity.
Stellar feminine style Pinot, 10% whole bunch ferment, bi-daily punch-downs, 10 months in 300L oak, half new
Lightest, most delicate of the clonal quartet from single vineyard planted high-density (more vines competing concentrates
flavour), aromatic with cherry & red berry features, hints of mushroom, bone-dry finale with gentle soft finish
Biggest, boldest of the four, earthy tangy cherry intrigue & firm farewell flourish celebrating its muscle. Full, layered
expression
Beauty is in the balance. Good colour but not extracted, complex aromas beyond simple cherry, grip without grunt, layers of
wondrous complexity
In homage to the late Anthonij Rupert and his passion to bring the finest Italian varietals to South African soils, with two distinctly Italian wines. The soil of the Cape, the heart of Italy.
This Chenel is true to the terroir characterized by cool climate and limestone soils. It has apple and peach notes on the nose, minerality and soft acidity on the palate. The oak aromas are well integrated and very subtle on the taste.
This Chenin Blanc is true to the terroir characterized by cool climate and limestone soils. It has fresh fruit aromas on the nose and rich minerality and soft acidity on the palate. The oak aromas are well integrated and very subtle on taste.
Upfront ripe cherries and plums with some herbal notes on the nose. On the palate the aromas follow through with pleasant well rounded soft tannins. This wine will continue to evolve in years to come.
