Made in a classical style, this Cabernet Sauvignon has the potential for decades of ageing. Dark colour, cloves and lead pencil nose, tannin still tight at this stage, should start to open a year or so after bottling.
Lovely pale straw colour, nose decidedly tropical with quince / golden delicious apples / litchi / mango / and summer melon flavours, good weight and balance on the palate, layered with minerality on the palate.
Intense nose of brioche, almonds and hints of wild honey. Well rounded palate with rich fine creamy mousse. The Chardonnay character is dominant, green apple and minerality, whereas the Pinot Noir adds to the fullness and complexity of the wine.
The wine shows quince, apricot, peach, hints of honey, almonds and floral aromas which characterize a fresh and upfront nose. The palate has a good weight with some minerality and a long finish. Fruit and oak well balanced a big wine.
Merlot brings fruit and elegance whilst the Cabernet Franc adds perfume, spice and structure. This is a medium-bodied wine with aromas of blackcurrants, mulberries and a hint of fynbos on the nose. Soft, rounded tannins, well-balanced with a lingerin
The Mooiplaas Pinotage is a medium bodied wine with a deep purple colour. The nose is reminiscent of plums, which is typical of this unique South African variety, while the palate is rich and full with a long finish. Overall the wine is soft & juicy
Rosalind, meaning beautiful rose, is a Bordeaux blend with elegance and balance that can stand the test of time. The wine has an intense dark colour, the palate shows a good tight grip of oak tannins, balanced with excellent fruit and good length.
The wine has a pale straw colour with a slight green edge. It shows hints of lime, white pear and gooseberry with underlying tones of passion fruit and lemon thyme. The palate shows flavours of Granny Smith apples, lemongrass and nettle.
It is a selection of the finest barrels of the Cabernet Sauvignon of the given vintage. Pitch black colour, fruitcake nose with dark cassis and liquorice, tannin still tight at this stage, which is to be expected, fine concentration and good length.
The wine is driven by intense fruit of red berries with perfectly integrated acidity and a good structure. The goal was to create a wine which shows elegance and complexity rather than a heavy, oak- dominated style.
An intriguing flinty minerality gently supports elegant aromas of citrus, apricots, and pear. The palate is full and creamy, and the fresh acidity leans a beautiful balance to the wine.
