Company Overview: We bought 11.5 hectares of fallow land near Plettenberg Bay. We planted vineyards of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. We built our home and our tasting room. We made wines, MCC and a life, that we love. Newstead will never feel commercial but it will always be exceptional. Since the first harvest a few years ago, its wines have won awards (including top scoring Cap Classique at the 2020 Amorim Cap Classique Challenge, International Wine & Spirit award Gold, Michelangelo double golds, Platters 5 star & Platinum 96) and elevated the region’s winemaking credentials, while picnics in the vineyards, polo, summer solstice parties and bespoke events have attracted visitors and groups from out of town and country.
